OFFICIAL INAUGURAL SEASON OF PRO TEAM POKER IS SET

The Southwest Poker League (SWPL) will kick off its first season in Nevada in the fall of 2009, it was announced today by Norb Ecksl, President of the AAA PTP. “After almost five years of research and development we take great pride in the launch of this newest sports venture,” said Ecksl.

The inaugural season lasts for 12 weeks with at least eight teams participating in two divisions, North and South. The winners of each division will face-off in a playoff championship match series to be held in Clark County in April 2010. The AAA PTP Playoff Championship team will receive a $10,000.00 purse. “Players will have the ability to form a team and compete in our new poker concept,” stated Fred Tillich, Executive Vice President of the AAA PTP. “You can get together with friends and play against other teams for the championship.” said Tillich.

HOST VENUES TO BE NAMED SHORTLY

The Northern Division of the SWPL will be based in Las Vegas. The Southern Division of the SWPL will be based in Laughlin. League matches are scheduled once a week for the length of the regular season. “We are excited to bring this new type of sport to some very famous venues in Nevada,” said Tillich. “With the overwhelming growth of poker over the last few years, it made perfect sense for us to debut PRO TEAM POKER here in Southern Nevada for our first official season. We look forward to it.”

“A marketing and promotional partnership with PRO TEAM POKER gives hotels, casinos and resorts here in Nevada the opportunity to promote their facility and expose sports fans to PRO TEAM POKER,” said Ecksl.

PUBLIC DEMONSTRATIONS OF PRO TEAM POKER

Look for venues of public demonstrations for PRO TEAM POKER to take place at various facilities throughout southern Nevada. They will be posted at www.PROTEAMPOKER.com as soon as they are announced when dates and times have been confirmed.

“Any would-be Pro Team Poker player can stop by our PTP match area to sign up and try their ‘hand’ at this newest concept of one of the most popular games,” said Ecksl. “It is a lot of fun.”

DEMONSTRATION MATCHES

All demonstration matches will last approximately two hours and will have two teams of five players each face each other across the poker table. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins. The players on the team that scores the most points in their match at the end of the evening will be awarded prizes. The player with the most individual points in their match will also receive prizes.

“This will give all poker players and fans a chance to watch and participate in this new sports concept,” explained Tillich. “Once they become involved, they’ll be hooked. The playing strategies and ability to bond with your teammates creates an excitement that is unequalled in the game of poker. Matches will spur intensive team competition.”

PLAYER REGISTRATION BEGINS

Players will have a chance to register for participation in the inaugural season of the Southwest Poker League. Registration forms will be available at all PRO TEAM POKER demonstration matches.

A PRO TEAM POKER player draft will take place prior to the beginning of the SWPL season for available players who have not committed their playing services to an eligible team at that time. Participating Teams and Operators will be announced by the AAA PTP in the coming weeks.

THE SCORING SYSTEM, PRO TEAM POKER STATS®
